Jacqui Martinez is a Lenca Artist and Educator, raised in Los Angeles, Pasadena, California. Planted and Rooted in Siguatepeque, Honduras. Her work is inspired by identity and culture which often needs a bridge of understanding and true question. She has studied set design at the University of California Santa Cruz and art education at New York University, widening her perspective in technical skill and critical analysis in creating functional art. Jacqui has exhibited her work, hosted workshops, and has taught in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Mexico City, Tanzania, Colorado and New York. She is currently working on a new body of work that mirrors the consciousness of the planet and its living organisms.
