A jam session/open workspace where poets and composers come together to create songs in a pressure-free environment. We hope to foster inventive and innovative storytelling and songwriting, and to inspire future collaboration among the artists gathered from across various communities. The Musical Theatre Factory & Poetic Theater Productions are now accepting applications from composers and poets to participate in the Meet & Make: Songsmiths lab taking place Sunday October 21 from 1-5PM. Over the course of that time, all artists (10 composers, 10 poets) will participate in 2 separate pairings with a new collaborator. Each pairing will result in an original song. At the end of the lab, artists will have an opportunity to share the work they’ve made with their fellow lab members. Pianos will be on the premises but with a large group, there will be limited access. We strongly encourage composers who work with other instruments to bring their instruments with them.
