Poetic Theater Productions annual Love Redefined showcase features a celebration of radical love of self and others through poetic, theatrical, and musical remixes, re-imaginings and riffs, inspired by the poets take on ritualism and written in response to classic love poems, quotes, and lyrics. Inspired by the work of Erykah Badu, bell hooks, Li-Young Lee, Journey, Violeta Parra, Marvin Gaye, Philip Glass, Jalacy “Screamin’ Jay” Hawkins, Deena Metzger, and Toni Morrison, with violin and beatboxing by Josh Henderson and D-Cross, writers Raquel Almazan, Nia Calloway, Maya N. Carter, D-Cross, Darian Dauchan, Zoë Flowers, Janelle Lawrence, Nkosi Nkululeko, Yadira De La Riva, and Tanaya Winder, share new poetic works redefining rituals of love.
