Let the Cypher Say Amen [Ameen]:
A Hip Hop Meditation Theatrical Experience
Toni Blackman takes the audience through her journey of developing a sacred relationship to Hip Hop from her exposure to the spiritual hymns of the church as a little girl, through an internal spiritual exploration, across the globe as an official ambassador of the genre, and toward a continuing process of innovation using Hip Hop as a ritual of meditation and mindfulness. Joined by dancer Kim D. Holmes and guitarist Jerome Jordan, with an opening mix by Gina Belafonte, and with direction by Watani Marks-McThomas, Toni Blackman’s story and hip hop meditation are interwoven into this theatrical experience.
