Danny Ursetti is a composer/percussionist from Southern California. Musical theater compositions include: A STATUE OF STATURE (Prospect Theater Company’s Musical Theater Lab), REGRETTING ALMOST EVERYTHING (Barrington Stage Company), YOUR BRAND-NEW INCURABLE DISEASE (NYU Tisch Drama STAGEworks), I WANT TO EAT BRAINS (Fresh Grind Festival), WE REGRET TO INFORM YOU THAT REZA IS DEAD (The Electric Brain) and the in-development works: AVA, CHARLIE BUILDS A FLYING MACHINE TO THE AFTERLIFE and A GAME TO SAVE THE WORLD. Conducting work includes Asst. Conductor on The David Rose Centennial Recordings and Principal Conductor on Remembering The Platters: Songs Of My Father both for Capitol Records. He served as Music Assistant to William Finn on the Broadway revival of FALSETTOS, and his songs have been performed at Feinstein’s/54 Below, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, Goodspeed Musicals, Barrington Stage Company, Two River Theater, The 52nd St. Project, Green Room 42, and The Sidewalk Cafe. Film/TV credits include THE EMPEROR NEWEST CLOTHES (arranger), HILL’S IDEAL BALANCE PET FOOD (composer), GATCHAMAN (conductor/additional music), and THE ACTIVIST (orchestration). His arrangements & orchestrations have been performed by The New York Philharmonic, Pasadena Pops, Master’s College, California State University Northridge, Pipe Dream Flutes, and countless ensembles and high schools around the country. He received an MFA in Musical Theater Writing from the Tisch School of the Arts NYU and is a current member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Workshop.
