Art As Liberation! Open Salon!
We are looking for original music, songs, poetry, spoken word, story-telling, drag, and all forms of performance in direct conversation with the theme “Art As Liberation”.
We recognize that all art forms can be transformative tools for liberation, galvanizing communities to take action to make their worlds more inclusive, just, and loving. The possibilities of what our world can be are endless. Also in recognition of Juneteenth and LGBT Pride celebrations, we ask: How do YOU choose to live in those possibilities and embrace art as a tool for liberation?
Join us at 5:30pm outside on East 4th Street for the Open Streets event, and then stay after the performance for a talkback with our community partners about using art as a tool for justice.
